Never bite the hand that feeds you

This saying means that you should be respectful toward people who help or pay you.

Origin: the origin of this phrase probably comes from the domestication of  dogs. Dogs were given food in order to obey their masters. And perhaps it is based on one of the Aesop’s Fables, The Gardener and his Dog.
