Most of us do not run a marathon in our lifetimes. Three runners, however, finished running 222 marathons in less than four months.

Ray Zahab, Kevin Lin and Charles Engle ran two marathons a day for 111 days to cross the 4,000-mile length of the Sahara Desert.

Their run took them through six countries: Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Libya and Egypt.

A documentary about their journey called “Running  the Sahara” was made.

WORDS
to run (ran, run): to move faster than walking.
