Morin khuur is a bowed stringed instrument considered a symbol of the Mongol people.
The Mongolian name of the instrument means a fiddle with a horse’s head in English.
The instrument has two strings which are made from hairs of a horse’s tail.
Nowadays the tail hairs are replaced by nylon which lasts longer.
