Khaled Abdelwahhab became the first Arab to receive the “Righteous Gentile” award in Jerusalem.
The award goes to non-Jews who risked their lives in order to save Jews during the Holocaust.
During the Second World War Abdelwahhab hid a group of Jews at his farm in Tunisia when German soldiers arrived in the country in 1942.
Abdelwahhab rescued 23 Jews from the Germans. He died in 1997.
