Kabaddi is a contact sport that originated in India. It is played between two teams of seven players.
The object of the game is to score points by sending a single player, raider, to the opposing team’s half of a court to touch as many of their defenders as possible and return back to their own half of the court without being tackled.
The raider has to chant the word kabaddi in order to prove that the raid takes place in one breath.
The first season of the PRO Kabaddi League was the second most watched game in India, attracting 435 million viewers in 2014.
The game rules are so simple that it can be played by anybody and almost anywhere so it is sometimes called „The Game of the Masses“.
