Don’t be ungrateful for a gift you have been just offered or given.
ORIGIN
This phrase is widely used in many European languages, sometimes with “teeth” used instead of “mouth”. It is more than 1500 years old and probably related to the fact that the age of a horse can be determined by quality of its teeth.
