Poland Means “Land Of Fields”

Polska, Poland,  is the third largest Slavic country after Russia and Ukraine when compared by population.

The name Polska comes from the Polans, a west Slavic tribe that inhabited the area of today’s Poland.

The word Polan was created on the basis of the Slavic word “pole” which means a field, underscoring the agricultural nature of the country.
