Till/Until the cows come home

For a very long time.

“You can keep on explaining till the cows come home.
They’ll never understand.”

Origin
The phrase was mostly in use in the 19th century and it relates to the fact that cows are rather unhurried creatures returning back to their shelters at a slow pace.
