Solanus Casey, Bernard Francis Casey, was a member of Order of Friars Minor Capuchin and known for his attention to the sick and poor.

He conducted well-attended Wednesday afternoon services for the sick.

His prayers helped many people recover from severe illness and overcome difficult life situations.

He was born on a farm to a family of sixteen children in 1870.

Due to difficulty in his studies he was ordained a priest “simplex”.

He had a deep passion for playing the violin, tennis and volleyball.

Twenty thousand people attended  his funeral in 1957.
