Primary and secondary teachers in China have been given the right to hand down punishment for minor violations of school rules.
Misbehaving students can end up standing for up 40 minutes or doing moderate physical excercise to reflect on their behaviour.
According to the regulation teachers are banned from using corporal punishment and verbal abuse.
