The ongoing animosity between the European Union and Russia, waging war in Ukraine, has caused another problem.

Russia has stopped supplying natural gas to European countries which means they will suffer from freezing days of winter.

Germany, for example, has decided to heat public buildings only to 19 degrees Celsius and hot water will be switched off in these buildings.

Corridors and little-used rooms in administrative buildings will not be heated at all.

Lights on government buildings and in shop windows have to be turned off overnight.

Heating of private pools is banned.
