Rutka Laskier was 14 years old when she was killed by the Nazis during the Second World War.

Now, more than 60 years later, the diary of the young Jewish girl has been released in Israel.

Rutka wrote about her life in Bedzin, Poland, about a boy she liked, and about some of the terrible things which had happened during the war.

“I’m turning into an animal waiting to die,” she wrote.

A Polish woman, who was a friend of Rutka’s, kept the diary all these years.
