In 1963, Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to fly in space.

When she was very young, she developed an interest in parachuting.
Through this skill, she was able to become a cosmonaut.

She spent three days aboard the Vostok 6 in June 1963.

In 2000, she received an award in London as the Greatest Woman Achiever
of the Century.
