When in Rome, do as the Romans do
When you are in a new place you should follow the conventions which people living in the area have.
Origin:Saint Monica with her son Saint Augustine planned to visit Rome on Saturday which was a fast day there. However it was not a fast day in Milan where they lived. So they asked Saint Ambrose who said: When I am in Rome I fast on Saturday, when I am in Milan I don’t fast on Saturday.
