English teachers often shook their heads when they heard former President Bush speak.

Bush was known for making grammatical mistakes in his speeches.

“Childrens do learn,” Bush said once in New York. He should have said “children do learn.”

On another occasion Bush asked: “Is our children learning?” “Are our children learning?” would have been the correct way to ask the question.
